What does a Title Company Do?
Confirms that the title to a piece of real estate is legitimate by performing a title search. They also issue title insurance.
What is a Title Search?
Looks for any outstanding mortgages, liens, judgments or unpaid taxes associated with the property, also any restrictions, easements, leases or other issues that might impact ownership. Surveys may also be required to determine property boundaries.
